Software Pals Wake Up
Dear Friends!
I want to reach as many Software Techies as possible, who have changed the total scenario of our lifestyles in the last one decade especially. These Brilliant Brainy workers have made whole look at us with envy, even Obama has won the elections by promising curbs on Visas to Indians. So these clever Indian ITians if they become more cleverer on some aspects on Handling their Money, many non-ITians like me can become more comfortable living in this Planet. So I request to all of you, who are getting this mail, to forward this many software techies, who by slight change of Heart can save millions for themselves & equally for others.
Humble Request:
Please do not splash your Money.
I don't have any grudge for you people earning lot of money in a very short span of your Career. But Please spend Judiciously. You have earned it hard by slogging it day & night- UK shift, US Shift, Australia Shift, Antarctica Shift etc...
House Rent or Room Rent ( or BUYING A HOUSE)
I am a resident of Velachery, The den of OMR's ITians. Before you all came here, a 1000 Sq. FT could hardly fetch Rs.2000. Today the same space rent is Rs.12, 000 & above. Some clever owners have rented to group of Boys or Girls @ Rs.3000 per head or more & atleast 6 stay in this size of a flat. It may be difficult for you to get a house for a rent so you could have Okayed whatever owners said. But for whatever you give as a Rent - Please ask for a signed receipt very month. You are generating lots of Black Money. One side every one of us sending mails after mails about looting politicians & their increasing salaries etc... & on the other side we are filling up their other pockets.
Same is the Case with buying a new house- The real estate has become the biggest Mafia - who is looting us, mainly ITians as you are willing to Pay anything they want both in Black & white - Please note here also your hard earned Money is becoming Illegal right under your nose. This mafia only pays those Politicians, it is just like your Front Office & back office- buddies! A Land in Velachery is not even worth living as it is sinking sand; proof is that the Railway station in Velachery was brought to ground level because of this reason. Velachery - (VELLA CHERY) literally means WATER TOWN or SLUM. If this area had been made in to big reservoir of water - The Chennai city will never starve for water in next 100 years.
Atleast as a responsible Citizen, you have to insist that you will pay whatever you have to pay only with proper receipt (not just paper receipt) - with all Taxes & duties clearly indicated.
One thing is to learn Bargaining, second ask for receipt for anything you buy.
This itself is big social service you can do. The Indian standard of living has not really improved, just salaries are increased. Human Values are dimming, you are judged only by your Balance sheet not by the Human Being you are.
Auto Rickshaws of Chennai
I am sorry to take you to this topic. I am seeing this day in day out.
Many working in IT firms in across Velachery, OMR are seen traveling in Share Auto Rickshaws, that too in a cramped space. Guys whose legs are popping out of Autos on either side of the driver. What this software education has given you guys? Please apply your common sense- you are sitting duck for an accident, by paying Rs.10 for Velachery to TCS hardly 1.5 Kms. A normal man in Mumbai will only pay Rs.3 for this distance by sharing auto only with two other People. Why not we? 1st - don’t compromise on safety. 2nd- don’t spend extra money for avoiding walking few extra yards. That too in this stretch & in OMR every 2 Mins. there is a Bus & many are Air-conditioned too.
After you have descended on this locality, an Auto man does not even care about any other citizen. They know that they can make quick bucks easily with unquestioning ITians. Many working in Cognizant, RMZ near Taramani Railway station are ready to Pay Rs.25 to Rs.30 to Auto (Not sharing one) from station to their office not even a KM away. That too most of the time auto drives on the wrong direction to save his time to be back to catch another big fish. Please earn whatever you can, but doesn't mean you need throw the money without knowing the value.
Same case with the Vegetable Vendor, Ironwala, Bike Mechanic or Car mechanic. Though your earning potential is High, you are still a minority. Majority are not having the same earning potential. They are also using all the services you use. It has become more unlivable for many.
There are high rise buildings built by many greedies buying lands at astronomical rates, building ultra modern buildings charging for every square inch, inflates the real worth of the area several folds. Ultimately it is siphoned by arm twisting Powerful politicians.
Dear Friends, we have a lot more responsibilities to take up. Today's situation is no different than the Pre-Independence Days. Only the Looters skin colours have changed. But the British Imperialism is still prevailing. British Double standards still exist. Britisher's Divide & rule still exists. It is lot more tougher to identify against whom we have to fight.
It is high time we all take up our responsibilities rather seriously.
The Biggest challenge we have today is corruption- root cause all the anomalies of we Face today. To weed it out do your bit, Spend for necessities not for extravaganza. Make every service accountable. Save a Lot of Invaluable Life, Energy, and Money & Time.
We may have surplus income, don't spend for the sake of spending.
Save every ounce today, tomorrow it may be scarce.
Everything we spend should have worth for the resource spent.
